The construction of a new four arm roundabout connected the North of Buxton to the town centre which provided access to homes and businesses and eased the notorious traffic issues in the area. During the development, 2,000 tonnes of soils needed to be disposed of.
Provectus attended a site visit to sample the soil to determine its quality and chemical composition. Waste assessment classified the soil in accordance with regulatory guidance to assess suitability for treatment. We also provides our approved hauliers to the client to ensure that the soil was moved compliantly from the producer's site to our soil treatment facility.
We worked in collaboration with a contractor specialising in earthmoving and bulk excavations to provide a disposal outlet for the contaminated soil to our Maw Green facility under a fixed price agreement. Bioremediation of the soil at the soil treatment facility was utilised to eliminate hydrocarbons. We treated the soils to remove hazardous substances, before reuse in a recovery area for restoration work.
